6 points + Three 1-hour lectures and one 2-hour laboratory class per week + Second Semester + Clayton

Synopsis: The scientific basis of weather prediction and the science behind topical issues such as the greenhouse effect, El Nino and the /ozone hole0. Climate change and the controversies it has generated concerning society0s effect on climate. Environmental issues such as atmospheric pollution. The role played by the ocean in regulating atmospheric processes. Destructive phenomena such as hurricanes, tornados, severe storms and tsunamis.

Assessment: Examination (3 Hours): 50% + Assignments: 25% + Laboratories: 25%
