Relativity and cosmology

Associate Professor Paul Cally (Department of Mathematics and Statistics

6 points + Three 1-hour lectures and 2-hour laboratory/tutorial per week + Clayton + Second semester + Prerequisites: MTH1030 or equivalent (some second-year Physics recommended) + Corequisite: MTH2032 + Prohibitions: ASP2052, ASP3042, ASP3121, MAT3061 or MAT3142

Synopsis: As for ASP2052 but with the additional objective of being able to use a large research-level telescope, including for data collection and analysis.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory work and reports: 20% + Field-trip report: 10%
