AIS2809Tourism and Indigenous Australia(ART)
Isabel Ellender 6 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Gippsland and distance + Prerequisites: First-year sequence or approval + Prohibition: AIS3809; GSC3802 (2000 and previously) Synopsis: This subject provides students with an opportunity to investigate and examine the contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to the tourism industry in Australia. Case studies will provide the framework to study the various tourist attractions and management arrangements; particularly the level and nature of involvement of Indigenous Australians.A field excursion may be part of this subject. Assessment: Case study/project (2500 words): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Attendance: 10% + Distance students - Case study/project (2500 words): 55% + Examination (2 hours): 45% |
