6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Clayton, Gippsland, distance + Prerequisites: Completion of a first-year sequence or approval + Prohibitions: AIS3030, KRS2030, KRS3030, GSC3803 (2000 and previously)

Synopsis: This subject undertakes a study of the High Court Mabo decision, the Native Title Act and an historical overview of land rights decisions. The main topics will include an examination of land tenure, British law, colonisation, sovereignty, the land rights movement from an historical and contemporary perspective.

Assessment: Tutorial presentation and written summary (700 words): 25% + Essay (1800 words): 35% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
