Synopsis: Topics include development of China0s financial sector and the impact of economic, legal, regulatory and taxation factors; the role and operations of Chinese banks and other financial institutions, money market, bond and share markets and foreign exchange markets; the deregulation of Chinese banking and finance; the role of Shanghai and Hong Kong in China0s international capital raisings; the role of foreign financial institutions.

Assessment: Research paper (5000-6000 words): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
