Research methods I

6 points + 3 hours per week + Caulfield, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, in-house (not offered in all locations in all semesters) + Prerequisites: Acceptance for enrolment in BBus(Acc)(Hons) or Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management

Synopsis: Students will be provided with a detailed understanding of the principal issues underlying business-related research. Students who have completed this subject will, at an advanced level, be able to design research proposals; to collect qualitative and quantitative data using a variety of research techniques; to analyse qualitative data; to apply statistical techniques to the analysis of quantitative data; to design non-probability and probability samples; and to conduct research ethically.

Assessment: Research proposal (2000 words): 10% + Literature review (3000 words): 10% + Assignment (quantitative analysis): 10% + Examination (3 hours): 70%
