This postgraduate diploma aims to provide students with a comprehensive set of
ergonomics competencies which are intended to fulfil the educational
requirements which are part of the criteria for certification as an
ergonomist/human factors practitioner.
Students are required to complete seven subjects (48 points) over two years part-time. The following subjects are described in the ´Subjects' section of this handbook.
Entry will be open to graduates with relevant previous experience or who have obtained a previous tertiary qualification, with a background in an appropriate discipline, for example art and design (industrial design), engineering (facilities planning and design; methods engineering), information technology (computer-human interaction), medicine (preventive medicine), or science (psychology), or other backgrounds as approved by the coordinator.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Human Factors and Ergonomics is intended to be a full-fee-paying course. In 2001, the full-time fee for local students will be $9300 and for international students it will be $15,500. Fees for part-time students will be pro rata.
