Target group

The course is designed to meet the needs of teachers, lecturers, trainers, educational administrators, policymakers and parents. It is of particular interest to a broad spectrum of educators who wish to develop specialist knowledge and leadership expertise in the field of literacy studies.

• EDF6301 New literacy studies
• EDF6302 Approaches to research in language and literacy studies

Elective subjects

• EDF6236 Language, society and cultural difference
• EDF6303 Literacy and technology
• EDF6307 Reading: theory, research and practice
• EDF6822 Leadership and organisation (winter school)
• or students may choose other elective subjects relevant to their course from those that are timetabled in 2001 after approval from the course coordinator

Research subject

A research elective must be included if the student intends taking up a research project option.

Research project

• research project of approximately 10,000 words - 12credit points (option two) or
• research project of approximately 20,000 words - 24 credit points (option three)
