Course code: 1767 * Course abbreviation: GradCertElecCom * Course director: To be advised * Offered by distance education from the Faculty of Business and Economics - Gippsland * Normally completed in two semesters of part-time study * Not offered in 2001
The Graduate Certificate in Electronic Commerce has been designed to provide graduates with an opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and skill in contemporary theory, processes and practices of electronic commerce.
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants without a first degree who have a minimum of six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive certificates. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of two credit exemptions for subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study. Refer to the course director for further details.
Students must have full access to a personal computer as it is an essential tool for electronic commerce and for this course (the Faculty of Business and Economics operates in an IBM-compatible environment). Access to the internet and world wide web is also necessary for access to subject materials, to communicate electronically with lecturers, tutors and other students, and to conduct research for assignments. Advice is available from Monash in relation to purchase of a computer system and connection to the internet and world wide web.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Faculty of Business and Economics - Gippsland as to the 2001 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Electronic Commerce may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Electronic Commerce.
