Monash University is a national and international provider of distance
education courses. The university's Centre for Learning and Teaching Support
coordinates and produces the necessary resources to enable students to complete
the major part, if not all, of their course without attendance on campus.
Fully accredited diplomas, bachelors and combined degrees, graduate
certificates and diplomas, honours and masters degrees are available by
distance education. Also offered are executive certificates - non-award courses
where a certificate of completion is issued to successful candidates by the
faculty rather than the university.
In 2001, 144 courses will be offered by distance education from the faculties
of Art and Design, Arts, Business and Economics, Information Technology,
Education, Engineering, Medicine (including the School of Nursing), Science and
the Victorian College of Pharmacy.
