General information

Course code: 2363 · Distance education, Gippsland and Berwick campuses · (Gippsland/Berwick/distance) · Course advisers: Mr Wayne Kirstine (Gippsland/distance), Dr Tony Patti (Berwick/ distance)
This course has been designed to prepare students to work at a professional level in the management and utilisation of resources and the environment, particularly natural resources, with an emphasis on best practice and sustainability. Students are provided with a wide range of analytical, monitoring and management skills. It enables students to undertake concurrently the Bachelor of Science (Resource Management) degree from Monash University and the Diploma of Natural Resource Management from various TAFE institutes including East Gippsland, Chisholm and Northern Melbourne institutes of TAFE.
This cross-sectorial course (commonly referred to as a double-award course) provides students with the opportunity to combine the applied 'hands on', vocational, and practical aspects of TAFE with the more theoretical, discipline-based courses available from the university. The double award, if taken full time, is a four-year program.
Part-time study and flexible delivery options (distance education) are available. In addition to the normal beginning-of-year entry, it is possible to commence the course mid-year, with a reduced range of available subjects.
