Management of natural resources is becoming an ever-important issue in modern society. The core subjects of this program are selected to alert students to the issues of resource management and to provide them with a wide range of analytical, monitoring and management skills. Since, by its nature, resource management is a multidisciplinary study, the program provides scope for a number of elective subjects which may be selected from other disciplines of science and mathematics, or from relevant studies in computing, business management, communication, tourism, economics, sociology or engineering.

Level 1

Level 1 study program for students commencing in 2000 and planning to enter this course in second year:

· BIO1626, CHM1011, CHM1022, ENV1616, SCI1010, SCI1020 (the pair CHM1616/CHM1639 is available as an alternative to CHM1011/ CHM1022)
· Twelve points of electives, including one mathematics/statistics/physical science six-point subject
