The course involves four years full-time study or the equivalent in part-time or distance education study.

Entrance requirements

The basic requirement for entry to the course is satisfactory completion of an upper secondary school program equivalent to the Victorian Certificate of Education. Applicants will be expected to have a study score of at least 25 in English, together with any two units from General Mathematics and Mathematical Methods. Some studies in business-related areas are helpful but not essential.
Students who have completed the first year of the normal Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business at the Gippsland campus with good academic results may be admitted to the second year of the double degree with full credit for appropriate first-year studies.

Course structure

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business is normally taken over four years of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time or distance education study. Students are required to complete a minimum of 192 credit points, meeting the following requirements.
(a) Completion of the following core business subjects with a total credit value of 42 credit points (seven subjects):

(b) Completion of a major study of at least 36 credit points and two submajors of at least 24 credit points each in any business discipline areas; or completion of two major studies of at least 36 credit points each in two business discipline areas. Business major and submajor studies are available in the following discipline areas:

(c) Completion of at least 96 points in subjects from the schedule of approved science subjects, including(i) a science major sequence (excluding computing) of at least 48 points, structured as follows:

(ii) a science minor sequence in a second discipline, consisting of 12 points at level one, and 12 points at levels two and three
(iii) two level one core subjects:

This subject is to be drawn from a different group from those which include the two chosen science discipline sequences in (i) and (ii).
(v) one elective, if required, to achieve 96 points.
