The double degree is designed to equip students with a broad range of skills
appropriate to work in a variety of vocations. The disciplines from which
students may select subjects for inclusion in the double degree are those
taught by the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences and
those taught by the School of Business and Electronic Commerce.
A
candidate for the degree must fulfil the following requirements to receive the
awards of Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business:
(a) complete at least 192 but not more than 216 points, comprising at
least 96 points from each of the School of Humanities, Communications and
Social Sciences and the School of Business and Electronic Commerce
(b) complete an arts major sequence (52 points) and an arts minor
sequence(28 points) from disciplines offered by the School of Humanities,
Communications and Social Sciences
(c) complete the prescribed core subjects:
(d) complete two majors of at least 36 points each in
two teaching areas
(e) undertake additional subjects to complete the 192 points needed
for the degrees.
Arts majors and minors are available in the following areas:
Gender studies, history-politics, Indonesian, Koorie studies , mass communications, sociology, writing.
Australian studies, community studies, journalism and all of the above arts major sequences.
Business majors are available in the following areas: Accounting, economics, management, marketing, tourism management.
