6 points + First semester + Berwick + 4 studio hours and 8 independent study hours per week + Prerequisite: VCM1101

Synopsis: This unit builds on the skills and knowledge acquired in VCM1101 Visual Thinking and Communication. Through a series of demonstrations, tutorials and projects using complex design and imaging tools, students are encouraged to explore their potential to create, manipulate and incorporate digital imagery within multimedia productions. Students use computer technology to compose and output static, animated and digital video images including sound for inclusion in a variety of electronic publishing media, such as WWW, Video & CD-ROM.

Assessment: Minor assignments: 40% + Major projects: 50% + Journal: 10%
