Synopsis: Consists of a nominal 4 hours per week during second semester. Student expected to undertake a supervised investigation into a research or industrial problem. May be supported by laboratory work, field studies or literature searches as appropriate. Students may, if the investigation is complex, work as part of a group. Results and conclusions are presented in a final report and seminar. Students expected to submit a final report, hence the greater credit point value of this subject.
Assessment: Final report: 75%, Seminar: 15%, Progress reports: 10%
