Synopsis: Electrical components in circuits. Voltage and current sources. Kirchoff's and Ohm0s laws. Nodal and mesh circuit analysis methods. Thevenin0s theorem. Transient and steady state response of first-order circuits. AC theory. Semiconductor devices. Amplifier principles. Concepts of feed forward, feedback, stability and oscillations. Binary number system and fundamentals of digital logic circuits. Transducers and analog to digital converters. Transducer bridges and amplifiers and types used in measurements. The use of fibre optics in the transmission of digital data. Operational amplifiers and various types of signal conditioning and non-linear applications.
