Synopsis: The subject provides a contrastive study of some major Slavic languages, including Czech, Polish, Serbo-Croatian, Ukrainian and Russian. It compares and contrasts such aspects as their sound and scripts (phonetics and orthography), grammatical structure and sentence structure (morphology and syntax) and vocabulary (lexicology).

Assessment: Written (4500 words): 50% + Examinations (2 hours): 50%
