Synopsis: The physical characteristics of blood, functions of blood cells, plasma, physiology of coagulation, blood typing, interstitial fluid and lymph; the location of the heart, the pericardium, heart wall, chambers and valves of the heart, the great vessels, the coronary circulation, the electrical conducting system and the ECG; arteries, arterioles, capillaries and veins; the physiology of circulation, shock and homeostasis, measurement of blood pressure; the aorta and its branches; veins of the head and neck, upper and lower limbs, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, the pulmonary circulation, and the portal system; lymphatic vessels, the tonsils, spleen and thymus, lymph circulation, the function of antigens and antibodies, formation of T and B cells and their role in immunity.

Assessment: One written examination (3 hours): 50% + One assignment: 20% + One multi-station recognition examination: 30%
