Synopsis: The subject offers a broad survey of central problems in contemporary politics linked together by a series of central questions and themes. Those areas include environmental politics, international governance and ethics, citizenship and democracy, nationalism, security and popular culture. The subject pursues the idea that poltical practices and institutions of governance, including the state itself, are being transformed by globalisation processes.
Assessment: Two short assignments (1000 words each): 33% + Essay (3000 words): 50% + Examination (1 hour): 17%
