8 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: PHL2150 or suitable third-year subject in moral philosophy (refer to the Arts undergraduate handbook); permission without the prerequisite may be given by the head of the department

Synopsis: A foundational subject in contemporary value theory. Topics include meta-ethics and applied ethics, political philosophy, social philosophy, philosophy of law, moral psychology and aesthetics.

Assessment: Written (6000 words): 100% + OR + Essay (3000 words) and examination (3 hours): 100%
