8 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: PHL2150 and another 8-point philosophy subject, or permission

Synopsis: The subject examines a number of proposals for a new ethic based on environmental values and a non-anthropocentric world view. The moral concepts they introduce include animal rights, the intrinsic value of nature, eco-feminism and ecological holism.

Assessment: Two essays (3000 words each) or essay and exam (3 hours): 50% each
