Ministers, minders and bureaucrats: the policy process

Synopsis: The formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policy at the Federal, State and local government level. The role of key players and the influence these individuals, groups and institutions can have on the formulation and implementation stage of the policy process in particular. The subject is designed to equip students with the knowledge expected of persons seeking employment in policy related areas in the public sector and in private sector organisations affected by government policy.

Assessment: Seminar participation and presentation: 20% + Essay (3000 words): 40% Examination (2 hours): 40%
