Synopsis: Provides an examination of contemporary issues impacting upon nursing education within continually changing tertiary and health care settings. The subject also exposes students to a range of theoretical underpinnings that impact upon the educational process in nursing, with emphasis placed on theories from both nursing and educational theorists. Students will apply classroom learning to teaching practice through participation in practicum that will include both classroom and clinical teaching experience.

Assessment: Seminar presentation/paper: 20% + Fieldwork report: 10% + Presentation of two teaching sessions: 40% + Reflective Journal: 20% + Class/Computer conference participation: 10%
