Synopsis: This subject enables the student to develop knowledge and skills related to caring for clients with complex health needs. The subject focuses on clients experiencing alterations related to respiratory, neurological, endocrine and gastro intestinal function. Knowledge of these alterations and development of associated skills will enable students to develop proficiency in the management of complex health problems in high dependency units and acute care areas.
Assessment: Module 1: Management of the high-acuity respiratory client, Exam: 30%, OSCA: Pass/Fail, Clinical Portfolio: 20%. + Module 2: Management of clients with alterations in regulation & elimination, Case study: 30%, OSCA: Pass/Fail, Clinical Portfolio: 20%
