6 points + Three 1-hour lectures and one 1-hour support class per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: MTH1020 or MTH1030 and either MTH1210 or MTH2210, or equivalent + Prohibitions: MAT2061, MAT2222, MTH3222

Synopsis: Probability models, discrete and continuous random variables, sampling distributions of the mean and variance. Introduction to bivariate distributions, conditional distributions and expectations. Mathematical principles underlying inference from normal populations and the binomial distribution. Inference from linear regression including confidence limits and prediction intervals. Introduction to multiple regression. Non-parametric tests. Introduction to sample surveys. Use of Minitab.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Mid-semester test: 10% + Assignments: 20%
