Synopsis: Ordinary differential equations: the solution of first and second order differential equations by analytical and numerical techniques. Applications of ordinary differential equations. Types of partial differential equations and their solution by separation of variables. Fourier series and their application to boundary value problems. Mathematical modelling using differential equations.

Assessment: On-campus: Examination (3 hours): 60%; assignments and test: 30%; computer laboratory work: 10% + Distance education: Examination (3 hours): 70%; assignments and tests: 30%
