48 points + First/second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: MSC3011 and MSC3022

Synopsis: Students who have performed satisfactorily in the prerequisite subjects may pursue advanced studies leading to the degree Bachelor of Science with honours. Lecture programs are selected from fourth-year science and materials engineering units; their combined weighting will be equivalent to six physics fourth-year units. Advanced materials syntheses will normally be compulsory. Students undertake an original research project.

Assessment: Lecture programs: 50% + Project: 50%
