Cancer epidemiology and prevention

Synopsis: Descriptive epidemiology of cancer, major risk factors for cancer and prevention of cancer. The descriptive epidemiology of cancer highlighting similarities and differences between cancer types in the distribution by person, place and time. Major risk factors for cancer with emphasis on skills to critically appraise analytical studies, infer causation and risk factor links to appropriate preventive strategies. Primary and secondary prevention of cancer particularly issues in running successful primary prevention programs, in assessing the effectiveness of a screening test, and evaluating primary and secondary prevention programs.
