Synopsis: Principles of toxicokinetics, the more common types of adverse effects of substances and the typical tests used to elicit these effects. Mechanisms of toxicity, dose-response relationships, patterns of organ toxicity, acute and chronic toxicity tests, no-observed-effect levels, extrapolation of animal results to humans, genotoxicity, reproductive toxicology, neurobehavioural toxicology, immunotoxicology, measures of risk and risk perception, analytical techniques, and planning for toxicological emergencies.
