Synopsis: This subject introduces students to the language of interactive media and the application of multimedia design principles. The role of the interface design is examined, and the advanced multimedia elements are defined, including interactivity, virtual space and multimedia authoring. Methods for problem solving interface design and interactivity and analysing electronic media are developed, giving a comprehensive understanding of multimedia design. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of interactivity, virtual space, and mutimedia authoring in multimedia design, including the skills and techniques to use these elements in electronic documents.

Assessment: Exercises 20%, minor projects 30% and major project 50%.
