6 points + 12 hours per week, including 1 lecture hour, 5 studio hours, and 6 hours of independent study + Second semester + Caulfield for 2000, then Berwick from 2001 + Prerequisites: None + Corequsites: None + Core for BDes(MMD) degree

Synopsis: This subject consolidates student's knowledge of multimedia design principles with a strong emphasis on the development of completed multimedia documents. The advantages and disadvantages of different delivery formats for multimedia is explored, including digital video, the Internet, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM. Skills in using text, images, animation, sound and digital video in multimedia documents are combined with further understanding of methods for problem solving two-dimensional multimedia screen design. The view of multimedia design as a discipline is expanded through an awareness of the many different roles involved in the production of multimedia.
