Synopsis: An introduction to the relevant laws as they relate to tourism, the role of the government in determining and managing tourism policy domestically and internationally, statutory planning frameworks, resort development, project financial analysis, feasibility studies, measuring and forecasting social, environmental and economic impacts of tourism.

Assessment: Major assignment (3000 words) - syndicate 30% + Minor assignment (2000 words): 20% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
