Synopsis: An overview of human resource management emphasising the Australian legal context and current theory and research. Topics include policy development, ethics, information systems, planning, job analysis, recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, remuneration, superannuation, equal employment opportunity, occupational health and safety, counselling skills, training and development, industrial relations, costing, and research in human resources management.

Assessment: Written (3500 words): 35% + Oral presentation: 15% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
