Synopsis: This subject analyses the relationship between government and business, its problems and issues in both theoretical and practical perspectives. Topics discussed are: roles of business and government; individualistic business and government relationship - the Japanese case; trade and competitiveness; theories of regulation; competition policy; public enterprise; environment protection; the borderless world; industry protection.

Assessment: Two research essays (2000 words each) 25% each: 50% + Examination (two hours): 50%
