Synopsis: Multilateral or conference diplomacy today constitutes a large segment of international relations. On many issues it is either the principal or a major ancillary means whereby nations pursue their ambitions. This course addresses the questions: What do international conferences do? How do they work? How do you work them? The course will explore some of the major foreign and trade policy issues covered in multilateral conferences, and the institutions and processes in which the outcomes are determined.

Assessment: Research paper (3000 words): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
