Synopsis: An overview of human resource management examining the impact of the social, economic, political and legal environment of human resource management. Topics covered will alter as current issues change. Representative issues include implications of social and demographic changes in HRM; the role of HRM in continuous improvement programs; workplace flexibility; HRM in global enterprises.

Assessment: On campus (written assignment of 3000 words, 35%; topic presentations, 25% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Distance: Written assignments (3000 and 2000 words): 35% and 25% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
