Synopsis: The strategic importance of human resource management, human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, performance appraisal, training and development, job evaluation and remuneration, equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, industrial relations, occupational health and safety, redundancy and retrenchment, and human resource auditing.

Assessment: Tutorial participation: 10% + Group tutorial presentation: 20% + Major essay (3000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 40%
