Synopsis: An overview of the major issues and areas of responsibility of human resource management (HRM). The role of HRM in organisations. The underlying theme is the contribution HRM can make through its responsibilities for the effective use of staff to facilitate the achievement of organisational objectives.

Assessment: Assignment one (2000 words): 20% + Assignment two (2000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
