Synopsis: Topics covered include the strategic importance of human resource management, human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, performance appraisal, training and development, job evaluation and remuneration, equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, occupational health and safety, redundancy and retrenchment, and human resource auditing. Content and assignment will have special emphasis on human resource management in retail organisations.

Assessment: Individual assignment (up to 2000 words): 30% + Company report (up to 3000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 40%
