Neurosciences: Dr J A Rawson (Physiology).

Synopsis: Unit 1: Head and Neck - the structures comprising the head and neck, the embryological development of these structures, commonly occurring congenital abnormalities and solving relevant clinical problems. This study complements teaching in neurosciences.+ Unit 2: Neurosciences - a comprehensive approach to the study of the central nervous system. The program involves examination of the structure of the human brain in combination with an analysis of its motor, sensory and integrative functions. The clinical aspects of central nervous system function are emphasised, and students will learn how basic knowledge in neurosciences can be applied to recognise and understand neurological disorders.

Assessment: Head and Neck: Examination (3hrs): 50%, practical 50% + Neurosciences: Written examination (3hrs) 100%
