Synopsis: Unit 1 Endocrinology - The anatomy, histology, pathology and regulation of the endocrine system; the chemical nature of hormones, their synthesis, storage, secretion, metabolism, inactivation, excretion and effects; the principles and clinical relevance of hormone assays and other endocrine function tests.+ Unit 2: Human sexuality and reproduction - Population growth and the survival of our species; hormonal control of the reproductive tract and gonads; fertilisation and infertility; intrauterine growth and development; sex determination and sexual differentiation; contraception, antenatal diagnosis; ethics and abortion; birth; breastfeeding; puberty and case presentations.
