Synopsis: Conventional systems of power generation and their optional equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines and both spark ignition and compression ignition internal combustion engines; combustion; reversed cycles for heat pumps and refrigeration; solar/thermal energy conversion methods; introduction to photovoltaic energy conversion; thermal energy storage; power generation from wind and hydro.
Assessment: Examination: 60% + Laboratory work: 10% + Tests: 30%
