Synopsis: Statistics: probability theory, random variables, probability distributions and density functions, expectation, joint distributions, sampling distributions, statistical inference, parameter estimates, confidence limits, hypothesis testing, quality control, linear regression and correlation. Fourier transforms, Laplace transforms and inverse Laplace transforms, Sturm-Liouville theory, eigenfunctions.
Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 80% + Test and assignments: 20%
