Consumer and Credit Law and Practice

Synopsis: This subject will cover the rights and obligations of parties to consumer and credit contracts, with particular reference to statutory regimes and dispute resolution. It will focus on such skills as: legal research and analysis, awareness and use of earning strategies and oral and written communication. The subject will be concerned with awareness of personal values and understanding of professional values.

Assessment: Regular feedback will be provided on written exercises and oral presentation such as preparation of application to the Tribunal and presentation of oral argument - 50%. Written memoranda and draft documents totalling 10,000 words and a miminum of 2 oral presentations of about 15 minutes each - 50%. Assessed according to grades of "Credit", "Pass", or "Fail"
