Synopsis: The major steps in litigation. Using the Rules of the Supreme Court of Victoria, the chronology of a civil proceeding from the decision to sue until the matter is ready for trial.
Assessment: Summer and Second semester: Class test: 25% + Final examination (3 hours): 75% OR alternatively final examination: 50% and either case study or drafting pleadings exercise: 25%. + First semester: Final examination (3 hours): 100%. Alternatively final examination: 75% and either drafting test or research paper: 25%.
