Literature of Destruction and Redemption

Synopsis: Through a guided study of Hebrew texts in English translation, students will be able to explore the theme by focusing separately on destruction and redemption and then viewing them both in a unified way. Both modern Hebrew and biblical texts will be considered in order to give the subject a sense of cohesiveness and unity. Students will be directed to important critical material and will be guided through important audio-visual aids.

Assessment: Tutorial paper presented both orally and in writing (1000 words) 15% + Long essay (3000 words): 45% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Third year students will be expected to have gained knowledge and the literary and analytical skills to prepare the background for further study and research
