6 points + 4 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: 10 months or more experience living in Japan, knowledge of 1945 'jooyoo' kanji" and passing the placement test

Synopsis: This subject is designed to accomodate the students who possess the semi-native competence in both the spoken and written languages. Students will consult with a coordinator and choose two electives based on their strengths, weaknesses and interests. Options are 'interpreting', 'translation' and 'business communication'.

Assessment: Two of: Interpreting (continuous assessment [10%] and tests [40%]) + Translation (written assignments [35%] and tests [15%]) + Business communication (project [20%] and essay [20%] and tests[10%])
