6 points + 5 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisite: knowledge of 300 kanji and passing the placement test

Synopsis: Development of advanced communication skills in written and spoken language through various activities integrating listening, speaking, reading and writing. Activities are built around topics such as Japanese people's lifestyles, Japanese history and cultural interaction between Australian and Japanese. Students will reinforce the 1,006 kyooku kanji and approximately a further 200 kanji will be introduced. Students are advised to enrol concurrently for JPS1090.

Assessment: Quizzes and assignments: 25% + Projects: 25% + Examinations: 50%
