Synopsis: Topics covered will be chosen from financial, engineering. project management, human resource, and legal issues. Financial issues will include sources of money, evaluation of projects and development of budgets. Engineering issues include project management and related software, risk and feasibility, safety, sustainability. The legal environment includes the legal structure of companies, intellectual property, liability, and standards. Human resources includes industrial relations, training, supervision, leadership and motivation. In tutorials teams will compete in a simulated project, manufacturing or services environment to gain experience with realistic management situations.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours ): 70% + Assignments: 30%
